Text= Collections adopted by Broward County Schools 2014-2015 L&L CURRICULUM READING – Text= Collections adopted by Broward County Schools 2014-2015 Includes digital and text approach Available online Independent Reading- Accelerated Reader Program used to encourage reading STAR test will determine student’s reading level. Each student is assigned a quarterly goal based on STAR test results Students will receive two grades per quarter for AR.

L&L CURRICULUM GRAMMAR/WRITING Text: Top Score Writing Students will focus on informative and argumentative writing skills to prepare for the FSA. Grammar skills will be reinforced in class and at home as needed.

L&L CURRICULUM VOCAB AND SPELLING Vocabulary development- through text and additional resources Spelling- frequently misspelled words will be considered in lessons and major assignments

Study Skills and Grading Monday-Thursday, sometimes longer projects on weekends to gather resources. Grading Policy Test 35% Quiz 25% Classwork 20% Project 20%

Technology Cell phones and IPads are not allowed in the classroom. At times, during L&L designated Silent Reading periods Nooks, Kindles or other electronic readers will be allowed in the classroom.
