Saturn Saturn is beautiful, but you could never tell what color it is. That’s what brings out the mystery in Saturn. Zara Salas

History Galileo was the first to discover Saturn, it happened on July,1610. He was looking in his telescope and saw a speck. Saturn got it’s name from the Roman god of agriculture. This is the symbol for Saturn.

Solar System The distance from the sun is about 886 million miles. Saturn’s orbital period around the sun is 29.46 years. Saturn’s rotational period is 10 hours, 45 minutes, 45 seconds. This is a picture of the location with all the planets, including Saturn.

Moons Saturn has 62 moons and 18 are known. The names of all of these moons are: Pan, Atlas, Prometheus, Pandora, Epimetheus, Janus, Mimas, Enceladus,Tethys, Telesto, Claypso, Dione, Helene, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion, Lapetus and Phoebe.
