#Goldenrules THEME-BASED CAMPAIGNS to ensure lasting awareness of the Golden Rules Accompanying deployment – February 2018

THEME-BASED CAMPAIGNS, WHY AND FOR WHOM? To make sure that employees take ownership of the revised Golden Rules written as of musts and mustn'ts, the Group HSE Division wanted to: Mobilize teams in the long term to develop in detail the requirements in each of the twelve Golden Rules. Provide teams with good practices and ready-to-use tools to make the rules easier to remember and apply. - Follow Group accident statistics by focusing in priority on subjects with a high accident rate. Purpose of the campaigns Heighten awareness of the risk generated by non-compliance with the featured Golden Rule. Remind people of the rules and the importance of respecting them. Use an instructive, illustrated approach to share the good practices to be applied. Pass on advice and share feedback. Bring about changes in practices and behaviors by encouraging discussions and exchange. Target audience Total and contractor employees. #Goldenrules - Theme-based campaigns – February 2018

How is the campaign to be deployed? A range of support media/tools available in 10 different languages A common core kit has been prepared and includes: 1 campaign launch WebinSHarE (webinar) to present the campaign and its objectives. 1 poster on the featured Golden Rule. 1 brochure with a set of practical advice sheets to clarify the rule and inform teams. 1 or two ready-to-use presentation kits (induction and advanced) that provide accident statistics and feedback on the featured theme to help heighten awareness. Each theme will have its own deployment method adapted to the needs expressed by each branch, including: One or more digital support materials to back up the subject and provide further explanations if necessary. Any other educational tool that will help further explain the subject and encourage employees to take ownership of the rule: e-learning, infographics, etc. Practical tools are available from the HSE toolbox: http://www.toolbox-hse.total.com/en #Goldenrules - Theme-based campaigns – February 2018

How should the campaign be organized? The themes are to be adapted to local practices and used in: Safety talks. Team meetings. Safety moments. Critical success factors Campaigns must be deployed alongside discussions and exchange with Total and contractor personnel, to be organized by Group site and affiliate managers. Contractor managers must be involved in implementing the campaign. Recommendations Encourage personnel to participate in the discussions organized on the subject. Ask a manager to attend safety talks to show that management is committed to the subject. Involve contractor companies. Promote the campaign using local communication tools (photos, personal experiences, etc.) #Goldenrules - Theme-based campaigns – February 2018

Heightening awareness Frequency: Deployment over two years, with a focus on a specific theme every 2 to 3 months* March 2018: Powered systems Golden Rule 7 September 2018: Lifting operations Golden Rule 6 June 2018: High-risk situations Golden Rule 1 December 2018: Protective equipment Golden Rule 4 To ensure dynamic sharing around the Golden Rules, it is advisable to organize theme-based discussions during the period covered by the campaign. * timescale being defined according to Group accident statistics #Goldenrules - Theme-based campaigns – February 2018

ADAPTING SUPPORT MATERIALS TO LOCAL CONTEXT All the support materials are provided in formats that can be modified and adapted to local practices if necessary. The support materials are adapted for entities that do not use the Total trademark (e.g. Hutchinson, Saft, Sunpower). The brochures should be printed preferably in A5 format. Do not modify the formulation of the Golden Rules in musts / mustn'ts If necessary, some of the information can be adapted to fit local regulations or requirements. Practical tools are available in the HSE toolbox: http://www.toolbox-hse.total.com/en #Goldenrules - Theme-based campaigns – February 2018
