Overview MCO 1700.23_ Right of all Marines Handled within 24 hours Preferred method to file formal EO Complaint

Request Mast MCO 1700.23E Includes both the RIGHT of all Marines to directly communicate grievances to, or seek assistance from, their commanding officers... ...and the REQUIREMENT for that commanding officer to consider that matter and personally respond to that Marine

Request Mast MCO 1700.23E Request Mast should be handled within 24 hours Should be afforded an opportunity to Request Mast in person Commanding Generals may authorize a Request Mast to be reviewed by the Command Inspector The Inspector MAY NOT respond to, nor deny a Request Mast, on behalf of the Commanding General, but may make appropriate recommendations

Request Mast MCO 1700.23E Preferred method for submitting Equal Opportunity formal complaints of discrimination, to include sexual harassment May also be used to address other complaints, such as hazing Any interference with a Marine's right to request mast or any attempt of reprisal is expressly prohibited and punishable under the UCMJ
