LEARN WHY COMPUTERS ARE REVOLUTIONIZING BIOLOGY! INTRODUCTION to basic computer science concepts applied to real biology problems. This course is designed FOR BIOLOGY STUDENTS (undergraduate or graduate), and teaches basic programming skills in PYTHON and R. ONE BIOLOGY COURSE is the only prerequisite and it counts toward most CBS MAJORS! in CSCI 3003: Introduction To Computing Biology Study problems in: DNA Sequence Analysis Genomics Proteomics Bioinformatics Career applications: Research & Grad. School Health informatics MD/PhD Students complete labs on REAL BIOLOGICAL DATA SETS in class! Questions? Email instructor Dr. Chad Myers at chadm@umn.edu! Offered Spring 2018!
