COMMUNITY BASED VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATIONS 650 COMMUNITIES IN NORTHERN GHANA ORGANIZED AND SUPERVISED BY DSW&CD ANTI-TRAFFICKING, EARLY MARRIAGES, FGM,MIGRATION OTHER CHILD PROTECTION ISSUES

THE NPA IS 3 YEAR PLAN CATALYST FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF RIGHTS PREVENTION GOAL: OVCs ARE SUPPORTED TO LIVE WITH THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH SOCIAL PROTECTION INTERVENTIONS, IMPROVEMENTS IN HEALTH AND ECCD SERVICES PROTECTIVE: TO PROTECT CHILDREN WHO HAVE FALLEN THROUGH AND HELP THEM RETURN TO FAMILY BASED CARE TRANSFORMATIVE: INPROVING THE CAPACITY OF STATE AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO PROMOTE THE RIGHTS AND WELLBEING OF CHILDREN

THE MAIN CHALLENGE FOR LEAP IS INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY FOR THE CRI: - CHANGING HEARTS AND MINDS(PHILANTHROPY,SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, RELIGION, donors) - FOSTER CARE AND TRADITION -COMMUNITY CARE IS DIFFICULT -DESIGNING RULES &REGULATIONS, MANAGING THE DATABASE, INTRODUCING NEW LEGISLATION

COMMITMENT TO CHILD RIGHTS IN GHANA CHALLENGE HAS ALWAYS BEEN IMPLEMENTATION THERE ARE ENORMOUS OPPORTUNITIES FOR WORKING TOGETHER LET US GRAB THAT OPPORTUNITY NOW THANK YOU.
