By Percy Bysshe Shelley Ali and Joey Ode to the West Wind By Percy Bysshe Shelley Ali and Joey

“If Winter come, can Spring be far behind?” Synopsis Percy Jackson talks in depth about the seasons describing how they interact with one another and how they are received by people. The west wind as mentioned in the title is continuously blowing throughout these seasons always present and blowing in from well, the west. Percy Fisshewants to be the wind, or rather blow in the wind like a plastic bag who would want to start again. He wants his words and his influence to spread to everyone on earth.

“Oh, lift me as a wave, a leaf, a cloud!” Theme The overall theme is about life. Each season represents a time in life. Such as the changes in life, the darkest times, the best times, and the uncertain times. The wind is driving force that brings you through life.

“O wild West Wind, thou breath of Autumn’s being” Packet An ode is a poem that praises a thing. Thou is the West Wind. The paradox in the poem is the use of both light and dark. The writer wants the wind to take him away. He is feeling anticipation to be brought through life knowing that after the bad winter there is going to be a beautiful spring.

“Oh hear” No hear Questions Thou: Thou is just a way of saying you, and in the case of this poem Percy the small engine is referring to the west wind in particular. Paradox: A paradox is an idea that contradicts itself, this is demonstrated by Percy Shelby talking about light bright happy colors and then BOOM mid stanza drop the ball and get deep dark and gritty very paradoxical of him if I do say so myself. Apostrophe: An apostrophe is used to omit certain letters in a particular word or conjunction of words and Percy uses this to keep lines of his poem in the proper amount of syllables.
