Description of English Tests Reading comprehension - 1 hour Grammar Test – 45 minutes Spelling Test Preparation in booster classes to brush up skills and help pupils learn test skills e.g. how to work to time.
English Writing is assessed throughout the year by teacher assessment. The children have a Writing Sample Book. Work in this book is levelled.
Maths Mental Maths test has been replaced with Arithmetic Test Reasoning Test 1 – 45 mins Reasoning Test 2 – 45 mins Help can be given with reading!
Write all the common multiples of 3 and 8 that are less than 50 Write the number that is one hundred thousand less than six million Write the three missing digits to make this addition correct. 1 5 + 4 2 marks
Marking of tests By markers/examiners. Tests are sent off immediately after completion. Results are back in schools in July and are requested by secondary schools.
Science Test A & B – each 45 minutes long. Help can be given with reading. Lots of practice going on at the moment as the children are tested on everything learnt from Year 3 – Year 6.
End of Key Stage 1 and 2 The new way of reporting will be using Scaled Scores
Assessment Key stage 2 tests results in July 2016 Each pupil registered for the tests will receive: - a scaled score - confirmation of whether or not they attained the national standard
