AP EXAM INFORMATION SESSION Eugene Ashley High School - 2018

Cost The State of NC will pay the full fee for all USED exams. Any exam ordered, but cancelled or unused (no show on exam day) will incur a $15 Unused Exam Fee per exam to the student.

Deadline Wednesday, February 28, 2018 is last day to order exams. Students must register for exams online by accessing the Ashley web page & clicking the AP Exam Registration Icon in the middle of the page. Modifications Any student who has already been approved through the College Board to have modifications on the SAT might be eligible for modifications on AP exams. The student must inform Mrs. Hand that you have these approved modifications & provide documentation from College Board prior to Friday, February 23, 2018. Having an IEP or 504 Plan does NOT qualify a student for modifications on AP exams. It may take several weeks to obtain modification approval. If you think you qualify for modifications, see Mrs. Hand. She must know about the modifications prior to ordering exams or the student will forfeit the right to use modifications.

EXAMS Morning Exams: Afternoon Exams: Please arrive by 7:30 am You will be admitted in the testing room at 7:45 am Afternoon Exams: Please report to the test site by 11:30 am. You will be admitted in the testing room at 11:45 am if there is no morning test in the room, or as soon as the morning exam is finished.

EXAMS YOU WILL NOT BE CALLED BEFORE THE DAY OF YOUR EXAM OR ON THE DAY OF YOUR EXAM TO REMIND YOU OF TESTING TIME. If you are NOT present when testing begins, you will NOT have the opportunity to test and you will be assessed a $15 Unused Exam Fee per exam.

Multiple Exams #1 If a student wishes to take 2 AP exams that are scheduled AT THE SAME TIME (example: Chemistry and Env. Science), you may register for both and inform Mrs. Anderson immediately. One test will be given on the designated day and one will be given the following week at a make-up session. There will be no additional charge for a late test because of this scheduling conflict. If student decides not to test, and you inform Mrs. Anderson after March 7, 2018, you will be charged the Unused Exam Fee of $15 for the regular test that was ordered but not used AND you will have to pay an additional late-order fee of $55 if you wish to place an order late.

Multiple Exams #2 If a student has 2 AP exams on the same day (morning and afternoon), it is crucial for the student to bring a bag lunch to eat quickly between exams. Start time for exams is regulated by the College Board. There is no time for a student to go ANYWHERE to get lunch. YOU MUST BRING LUNCH! You will have about 10-15 minutes at most to eat. Be prepared!

General Information #1 Read the Bulletin for AP Students and Parents. Check the Exam Schedule for dates and times for your AP exam(s). The schedule is on the College Board website and on the back page of the bulletin. Students may register for exams from any computer. Make sure to print yourself a confirmation page too.

General Information #2 If you decide NOT to take an exam you have ordered, notify Mrs. Anderson immediately so that we can update the roster. If there is a school-related reason that you will not be able to test on the scheduled exam day, notify Mrs. Anderson AS SOON AS YOU BECOME AWARE OF THE CONFLICT. The day before the test is not an acceptable time period.

General Information #3 LEAVE CELL PHONES AT HOME OR IN YOUR CAR It is a testing misadministration to have a cell phone or computer in the testing room – even if it is turned off. All tests will be invalid if ONE phone is in the room. Drinks and snacks are NOT allowed near testing materials. You are allowed to have a drink or snack during the break (approx. 10 mins. depending on the test) All food and drinks must be placed at the back of the testing room at all times and consumed OUT OF THE TESTING ROOM (in the hall)

REQUIRED PREADMINISTRATION SESSION Monday,April 30, 2018 9:00 AM IN THE CAFETERIA (you will report according to your last name – more details will be provided later) MAKEUP PRE-ADMINISTRATION SESSION Tuesday, May 1, 2018 9:00 AM IN THE CAFETERIA THESE ARE THE ONLY PRE-ADMINISTRATION DATES STUDENTS WHO DO NOT COMPLETE REQUIRED INFORMATION AT THE PRE- ADMINISTRATION SESSION WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO A TESTING ROOM ON EXAM DAY AND WILL BE CHARGED THE UNUSED EXAM FEE.
