Definition of a Sentence A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought.
Sentences Different kinds of sentences have different purposes. A sentence can make a statement, ask a question, give a command, or express strong feeling.
Sentences All sentences begin with a capital letter and end with a punctuation mark. The punctuation depends on the purpose of the sentence.
