Social Engagement, Auditory Processing & Motor Skills in Children with Autism. The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a research based therapy showing significant results in the following areas: Social Engagement and Emotional Regulation Auditory Sensitivities and Auditory Processing Anxiety Who can participate? Children aged 8-14 years with a confirmed ASD diagnosis Typically Developing children aged 8-14 years (Control group) What is involved? 3 separate face-to-face social and behavioural assessments, over a period of two months 1 week of intervention sessions – one hour for five consecutive sessions The auditory intervention involves listening to filtered/modified music through headphones All of this will take place at La Trobe University, Bundoora.
