CHANUTE FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNUAL FIRE HYDRANT TESTING NOTICE

FIRE HYDRANT TESTING Starting April 1, 2017, the Chanute Fire Department will be conducting Annual Fire Hydrant testing. Testing will continue through July 31, 2017 or until ALL hydrants have been tested.

Testing will be done throughout the FIRE HYDRANT TESTING Testing will be done throughout the City of Chanute Testing will be done between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays.

This is due to the upsetting of the sediment in the water lines. FIRE HYDRANT TESTING Citizens are cautioned that during this testing phase of fire hydrant maintenance water from the tap might be discolored. This is due to the upsetting of the sediment in the water lines.

FIRE HYDRANT TESTING If this discoloration occurs, please run the water from the tap until the discoloration dissipates. Citizens need to be careful about washing light colored clothing during this time, as the discolored water may ruin the fabric.
