Importance of Music Important form of entertainment. Hymns and secular songs. Theater enhanced and became more popular.

Singing Known as the “nest of singing birds”. Music and singing was everywhere. Educated expectations.

Dance Popular pastime. Considered exercise & good for the mind. Combination of different instruments. Varied Upper class had a different taste them lower class people.

Social Class Upper class: Court dances. Dances from Italy,Spain, and France. Court dances were performed as couples. Masques were popular with the upper class. Lower class: Couldn't participate in court dances.Lower class had less steps. Dancing between the upper and lower class were very different.
