OASIS/PeopleSoft Communication and Coordination Meeting September 5, 2007   Opening the Downtown Phoenix campus and moving several schools from their traditional Tempe home New programs at other campuses Transition away from the DARS mainframe production to DARS on windows and the web Implementation of PeopleSoft and therefore the need to work in at least 2 systems as we transitions (DARS, SIS and PS).  This makes their jobs harder Need to learn new things and take time from already packed schedules.  Attached is Paul’s note giving some background as to the extent of this effort.  Sandra Voller and Julie Givans have participated as part of the Student Records team and crafted much of the training content.  Others have served as trainers. New provost New leadership as deans/assistant deans transition New method of keeping students on-track (critical tracking definition and new roadmaps for advising incoming students) ASU 101 requirement   Next year:  eAdvisor, new catalog rules, new placement requirements, new intervention, new orientation model ???????????   And yet they stay engaged for the sake of their students Many contributed to the construction of the roadmaps Some will teach ASU 101 next fall They continue to engage to improve the process by doing overrides when needed and helping us find problems in configuration.  This is great.  By now we have registered students in over 9,000 sections. Continue to support the project team by not shooting the messenger (me, the SR core team, the training team…..) They have advised every incoming freshmen (or will) through orientation   Stories:   This group had a “good-by to SIS” party in February where they played Jeopardy with categories like “know your SIS trivia”, “things we love about OASIS”, “Who’s who on OASIS”.  They gave gifts to the Student Records OASIS team (flower pots with seeds as a thank you for planting the seed of change).  The message is that they are great partners in improving the institution.   This group is there when new students need a leg up in planning for their entry to ASU at Orientation.  Giving a supportive presence as students learn how to use the Student Services Center.  When students have problems with the system, the advising office gets the first call.  Since they have weathered the fall-out, we have not heard the panic from the students.   Conclusion:  Thank you from UTO.  We can not do this without them.
