Martin Luther the Humanist He believed That EVERYONE should have access to the Church: Not just Popes and priests. This meant that he believed… Ordinary people should be able to read the Bible, so it was translated into German (the common vernacular & Luther’s language) Every town should have a school so kids could learn how to read the Bible Church services should be simple, so everyone can understand and take part in them No more indulgences, confession, prayers to saints. Church should be about improving THIS life, not worrying about the next.
