History and Mission Founded in 2001 to support women in Life Sciences from the classroom to the boardroom Mission: Women In Bio is an organization of professionals committed to promoting careers, leadership, and entrepreneurship of women in the life sciences

YWIB is a special initiative of WIB, designed to introduce and inspire middle and high school age girls to careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

YWIB creates programs and events geared towards encouraging middle and high school girls to consider the life sciences as a career choice. The events ignite girls’ curiosity in biotechnology while nurturing a business and entrepreneurial spirit.

MAPs (Mentors, Advisors, Peers) groups are informal meetings of six to ten women who have an interest in discussing topics of common professional interest. Topics may include: career planning transitioning careers maintaining a work/life balance managing a team/department leading/running a company entrepreneurship raising capital

Boardroom Ready Program Women In Bio is taking action and making a real difference in achieving greater gender diversity on corporate boards……. The Women In Bio Boardroom Ready Program Aimed to help executive women achieve their goal of corporate board service. Inspired by Biogen's successful Raising the Bar Program Prepares exceptionally qualified WIB members for board service by Providing a board certification training Assistance seeking public and private corporate board opportunities

Boardroom Ready Program George Washington University’s Executive Education School Five-day life-science focused board training course (split into two 2.5 day modules) Teach candidates the commitments, duties, operation, and responsibilities of participating on public and private company boards.
