P.K. Page

Who is she? P. K. Page (Mrs. W.A. Irwin) was born in England and brought up on the Canadian prairies. She was out of the country for many years with her diplomat-husband, Arthur Irwin, and now lives in Victoria, British Columbia. She is the author of more than a dozen books of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction, including three books for children. Among other honours, she has won the Governor generals award for poetry for The Metal and the Flower (1954).

Poetic Accomplishments As ten, as twenty The metal and the flower Cry Ararat!: poems new and selected P.K. Page: new and selected Planes: poems Five poems Evening dance of the grey flies The glass air: poems selected and new Two poems Hologram: a book of glosas The hidden room volumes one & two Planet earth: poems selected and new

P.K. Page In my opinion, the place she lives in, Victoria, B.C., influences the writing of her poems. Especially when I read deaf mute in a pear tree. I used to live near Victoria and my family always grew pears and it always seemed like there was and abundance of blue jays.

P.K. Page When I read the poetry of P.K. page, I think she puts herself in the position of an observer, and when she writes, she writes about things that she sees.
