7th GRADE SCHEDULE 7:40-8:05 Breakfast 8:10-8:15 Announcements 8:15-9:15 1st Period 9:20-10:20 2nd Period (Locker break before 3rd period) 10:25-11:25 3rd Period 11:30-1:00 4th Period and Lunch (Lunch from 11:40am until 12:10pm) 1:05-2:05 5th Period (Locker break before 6th period) 2:10-3:10 6th Period 3:10-3:15 Dismissal

We have exciting field trips planned! These include a college trip, community service, and virtual field trips among others. Information will be communicated as soon as it is available.

7th Grade Homework Club Wednesdays from 3:15-4:45 Academic teachers will rotate (at least 2 per week) Please ensure your child is picked up at or before 4:45. If transportation becomes an issue we may have to cancel this valuable extra opportunity for our students.

Materials: 1.5 inch binder, 1 subject college ruled spiral, loose leaf paper, writing instruments (dark blue and black ink pens) Novels include: The Outsiders (S.E. Hinton), Monster (Walter Dean Myers), Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry (Mildred D. Taylor) Recurring Assignments: 1.) SAT Vocabulary Enhancement in spiral notebook: Every other week students are assigned 15 vocabulary words. Students complete 4 practice assignments from the choice board in their spiral. Students have one complete week to finish the assignments which are due the day of the vocabulary test. 2.) Study Island Standard Reinforcement: Every Monday students are assigned a Study Island assignment. It is due the following Sunday. Students must answer 20 questions and earn a 85% or higher as their OVERALL score. ANYTHING less is recorded as a zero. 3.) Read Theory Reading Comprehension Practice: Every other week students will log on to Read Theory and complete 10 comprehension quizzes. The scores will be averaged together and they should earn at least an 85%.

LATE/SLOPPY/INCOMPLETE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED. Daily Learning Log is a tool that can be used to be kept abreast of what is happening in class on a daily basis. Ways to be kept informed: Weekly e-mails are sent on Fridays. Website is updated frequently. E-mail is the best way to contact me.

Goals for Mrs. Sheffield’s Class Prepare students for the GMAS Prepare students for high school Algebra All lessons are in support of at least one of these goals. All lessons follow the suggested course sequence and are based on Georgia State Standards.

How your child can be successful View notes daily. Complete homework assignments. Use study guides to work extra math problems with you. Come to all tutorial/study sessions throughout the year.

This school year, we will be focusing on finding those missing puzzle pieces to help your child succeed and complete their puzzle! Students will create an Interactive Student Notebook. This will be a composition notebook that includes all class notes and the majority of their assignments. Students will use a two pocket, three prong folder to hold their science research project and lab work. These materials should help your child stay organized and have everything in one spot.
