SAMPLE OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS IN THE V ENCUENTRO CONSULTATION September 20, 2017

Young People’s Responses Sampled from 17 Dioceses Total of 641 consultation forms analyzed, from 95 distinct parishes

Young People Visited in the Missionary Actions 51% Female 49% Male

Languages Spoken by the Young People Visited 81.4% of written responses were submitted in Spanish BUT… 84% of Hispanic/Latino Catholic youth (14-17) and 65% of young adults (18-29) are U.S.-born, up from 82% and 57% in 2012 89% speak English well, and 28% do not speak Spanish

Where Are They From? 25.8% reported a U.S. city, state, or just “USA” 16.4% identified as “Hispan@” or “Latin@” 3.0% mentioned two or more countries of origin
