Connecting Themes Social Studies

Themes Beliefs and Ideals Conflict and Change Individuals, Groups, Institutions Location Movement/migration Production, Distribution and Consumption Scarcity Technological Innovation

Beliefs and Ideals The values and principles that guide societies (people) to make decisions.

Conflict and Change Struggle between two groups that result in changes. All conflict results in change in societies.

Individuals, Groups, Institutions Actions of individuals, groups, and institutions actions effect societies.

Location Effects a societies culture, economy (money), and actions. Where a place is located

Movement/Migration Change in location of a society. Changes are made to new location by new society.

Production, Distribution and Consumption The making and consuming of goods by a society. Laws that effect the production and consumption of goods.

Scarcity Limited resources (not enough for everyone) effect the behavior of people in a society.

Technological Innovation Developments in tools and resources to that have intended consequences and unintended consequences
