Why You Should Play

Attention Getter Everyone loves a good story. Just like how everyone loves a good game. Why not have the best of both worlds? Undertale has all of that and more! This presentation will hopefully convince you to play Undertale or to just check it out.

My Opinion In my opinion, Undertale is the best RPG game that you can play on a PC. I’ve watched so many Let’s Plays of this game it’s ridiculous. This game is so heart warming. It will make you laugh some parts, cry on others, and do everything else in- between.

Background undertale is an indie rpg that was created by toby fox and released in september of 2015. in this game you play as a human child who falls into a place called the underground where monsters reside. in this rpg, you don't have to kill anyone. “Each enemy can be "defeated" nonviolently. Dance with a slime. Pet a dog. Whisper your favorite secret to a knight. Or, ignore this choice and rain destruction upon your foes.”

Reason 1:THE STORY If you’re anything like me, you love a good story. Undertale provides a well written, heart warming story that will play to all of your emotions. Depending on how you play, this game has a lot of wild plot twists in the story that will leave you wanting to play more. Also, every good story has memorable characters. All of the game characters in Undertale have such fun personalities that you just can’t forget. Even the mini-bosses and the NPC’s are memorable characters.

Reason 2: THE MUSIC This game has music for EVERYTHING. The music really helps set the mood for the different fights and parts of the story. Personally, I sometimes listen to the music while I'm doing homework because it makes for great background noise.

Reason 3: THE POWER OF CHOICE In most RPGs, giving the player the power to choose what happens is very important. Whether it be allowing the player to choose what to say in a conversation, or giving the player a choice on whether or not another character lives. This allows the player a sort of freedom that is unique to RPGs. In Undertale, your choices change how the game is played, and what the ending will be like. Specifically, your choice on if you would rather fight or give mercy in a battle.

COUNTER ARGUMENT~ After Undertale was released, it got insanely popular. And with anything that is popular there comes a really bad fanbase. Lots of people stopped liking Undertale or just dismissed it altogether because of the fans. And I can kind of understand that. Undertale is a great game to play blind, but lots of people spoiled the game for their friends or in the comments of Let’s Plays.

Conclusion Undertale is a very fun RPG that will play to your emotions and your power of choice in a way that not many traditional RPGs do. It has spectacular music and memorable characters. I hope that this presentation has convinced you to play Undertale.
