What forces have caused conflict in the recent past or present What forces have caused conflict in the recent past or present? The Syrian civil war

What is the problem? Syrian’s saw the chance to protest against Bashar Al-Assad’s regime because of the 2011 spring activism in Egypt and Tunisia inspired them to do so. This really set off the Syrian Government. They had no mercy on their people. The government started to torture, kidnap and even kill protesters. Government troops started shooting at those that shot at them. Civilian rebel forces started to form which led to more violence and basically started a civil war. This situation really affects civilians and the Government because their destroying their Country.

What brought this problem About? After years of authoritarian government people of middle eastern countries revolted against their leaders. This action was named the 2011 Arab spring. Syrian civilians saw that some Arab countries managed to drop their leaders . Syrian civilians where inspired by this so they decided to try and take action as well. Hafez Al- Assad which is the father of Bashar Al-Assad ruled Syria for thirty years. Hafez modernized the country but he had the people of Syria under total control. Then in 2000 Bashar Al-Assad’s father died so he took over his fathers place. Bashar promised his people he was different compared to his father and was a different kind of leader. Bashar managed to fool his people by being very easy on them but later on he started to follow his fathers footsteps. Bashar became a strict leader giving his people little freedom. After Twelve years of this The Syrian civilians decided to protest in 2011.

What has been done to solve this problem? Syrian civilians tried to solve this problem by protesting In March 2011 in the southern city of Deraa. Later on this situation escalated into more violence. Violence is not solving their problem so far because Bashar Al-Assad is still ruling.

My recommendation to best solve this problem in the future would be to form groups and unite the people of Syria and try to evacuate to ally countries so that the leader of Syria could see something he’s doing is not right and maybe he will change his ways of ruling. I think this would be a better way of solving the problem instead of having a civil war damaging the country itself.
