UNIT 10: FILM PRODUCTION - PRE-PRODUCTION CHECKLIST Alex Jenkins

GENRE The genre of my short movie is horror. I have chosen this genre as it works best for a short movie. My movie was inspired by movies such as Friday the 13th and Halloween.

Mood board

NARRATIVE My film will be called Bullied. It will be a silent film and therefore will not have a script. My story is centred around 2 college students. As it is a silent movie the students do not have names as they would therefore not be heard. One of the students is doing very well at college and the other is failing so resorts to bullying to get past his assignments. It is set in a college on a sunny day. The movie start by showing the bully in a body bag that is getting zipped up. The first student can’t take being bullied anymore after he has been beaten up and had his work destroyed by the bully because he refused to help the bully this time. The next day as the bully is walking into the college the first student takes a knife and stabs the bully in the back before dragging his body around the corner.

COSTUME/PROPS Student 1 - light clothing which makes the audience think that he is nice even though towards the end he is shown to be the murderer. Student 2 – dark clothing that makes the audience believe that he will be the murderer even though he is actually the victim at the end of the short film.

HEALTH AND SAFETY I will take the correct precautions when doing my location recce to make sure that the risk to the actors in my movie is at a minimum level. If there is anything that is a hazard where I am shooting I will see if it can be moved out of the way whilst I am filming.
