If the provider is located in the same location as other services it may be part of a one-stop. If not, it may be part of a networked platform. ECE providers may be able to provide a similar role serving as a hub for parents. As Family resource centers typically provide multiple services, they can be a broader coordination hub for families. The actual “center” or “hub” may not be the same for all families – it may depend on what’s available in the community, the relationship between provider and parent, and the particular needs that the child has. What is important is that these connections are made for families who need them. In this scenario, state level agencies are linked and the barriers between them have come down a bit. One way this can be done is through an inter-agency coordinating council. The distance between county-level agencies has also been reduced. In this example, we show a local coordinating council. The important aspect is the coordination however it is accomplished. At the community level, service-delivery platforms provide multiple services. When I say platforms I mean providers. Many kinds of providers can be platforms for integrated service delivery. The platform may come from any of the sectors. Platforms can be one of two types: a one-stop shop, or a network of providers with very close communication and linkage. 2 one-stops: Hope Street, ELC 2 virtuals: Hathaway, Mar Vista.
