Star Behavior After 2 verbal warnings, change ticket to yellow and they miss 5 minutes of recess. If behavior continues, change ticket to red. If they reach red, a note will be sent home. If their ticket stays on green all week, they receive a Good Time Ticket!

Good Time Tickets Given on Friday 10 dress down Must be used by the end of the year ALL DRESS DOWN DAYS MUST BE APPROVED IN ADVANCE

Brain Chains Every child has their own necklace Children will earn tags when they complete a skill successfully or make a good personal choice Necklaces will stay in the classroom

Star Student Everyone will have their special week. Green folder will be sent home with directions. Share poster and favorite book with class

Pete’s Journal Pete will be taken home by a each student Invite to be a part of your family. Set a place at dinner, play games, and read stories to him. Please take time to complete the activity and journal with your child HAVE FUN!!

100 Day Project February Gather 100 items Display in a creative way Pennies, cereal pieces, candy, etc. Display in a creative way 10 groups of 10, 20 groups of 5, 50 groups of 2 Projects will be on display in the hallway

School Hours 8:15 – 2:45 Car riders are not permitted in the building until 7:40 If you arrive after 8:15 you must go to the office with your child for a late pass All late car riders must be picked up from the office

Arrival and Dismissal Bus riders (escorted by safety) Car riders (drop off front driveway pick up behind school at 2:45) CARES Children must wear bus tags for the first week of school

Dismissal Please send in a note if there is a change in dismissal If you do not send in a note in the morning please call the office as well as send an email Change in CARES please let both CARES and I know Copy both of us on emails During the day let the office know too Early dismissal sign out in office

Security Doors are locked at all times You must ring the bell, sign in at the office, and wear a visitors badge Do not hold the door for anyone else! You must have clearances to volunteer or attend field trips

Important Forms Car Rider, Early Dismissal, Absentee, etc. are available on our website. Please send important forms in their homework folder. You must go to the office to pick up an early dismissal student and sign them out. Please send all forms/money in an envelope labeled with child’s name, classroom, and contents.

E-mail Please use an address that you access daily E-mail will be used for class list and homeroom parent communications

School Uniforms Kindergarteners do not need to use a belt. Please Velcro or slip on shoes Summer Uniform may be worn until notified of change to winter uniform. Gym uniform is worn to school on Tuesday (summer uniform t-shirts and shorts only).

Catholic Leader Award Each month the students vote for the child who demonstrates the monthly virtue. The recipient of the award is kept secret until the name is announced following First Friday Mass. Parents will be notified and are welcome to attend and take photos.

Snack Snack time is approximately 10:00AM Pretzels are available. Orders are only taken twice a year. Separate snack bag from lunch.

Lunch Lunch is in the cafeteria. Hot lunch is offered every day. The order form is on web site. Snacks are available each day. Please volunteer to be a paid lunch person for kindergarten! Please pack a mat or paper towel to place food on

Journals Cut out pictures from magazines to form a collage on the front cover of their copybook. Pictures should include family photos, food, toys, movies, or sports they enjoy. After all pictures are glued, please cover in clear contact paper.

Health Needs We have a Council Rock nurse on staff 2 days a week. A certified nurse is here the other days. Allergies – provide information today! All medications must be kept in office. No snack may be brought in for birthdays

Jean Days Once a month we collect $1.00 from each student to donate to a designated charity. In return, the children may wear play clothes (shoes should be appropriate for the playground). FREE Jean Days are earned! Bring in 10 good time tickets and the office will give your child a slip for a personal jean day. You may not use your pass on $ Jean Days. ALL JEAN DAYS MUST BE PRE APPROVED

Homework Given Monday through Thursday Calendar on website Help children form letters correctly in Handwriting Book Please sign Review list of learned sight words as new words are added (list is on website) Send a note if there is a problem

The classroom can earn free books, CD’s and DVD’s. If you are interested in ordering, return the form by the due date. Checks made payable to Scholastic Order on-line – There is a link on my web site.

Highlights Magazine Do NOT need to order! Please just sign your name and return to school. Earn free educational supplies (stickers, manipulatives, organizers, educational toys) for classroom Multiple opportunities throughout the year

Miscellaneous Volunteers: clearances must be turned in to office Please look at and empty folders every night Fill out emergency card and RETURN on ORIENATION DAY Fill out parent survey
