WorldStrides Heritage Performance Williamsburg

Location Williamsburg was originally known as “Middle Plantation,” a 1632 fortified settlement on high ground on the peninsula between the James and York rivers. It was renamed Williamsburg after the capital of the Virginia Colony was moved there from Jamestown in 1698. Williamsburg is well-known for Colonial Williamsburg, the restored Historic Area of the city, and for the adjacent College of William and Mary, established in 1693, the second-oldest university in the Unites States.

Williamsburg Sightseeing The Historic Triangle: The Historic Triangle is comprised of Jamestown, Yorktown, and Colonial Williamsburg. Jamestown Settlement: Includes a recreated English fort and Native American Village, extensive indoor and outdoor displays, and features three popular replicas of the original settlers ships. Colonial Williamsburg: Consists of many of the buildings that, from 1699 to 1780, formed the capital of colonial Virginia. These buildings include the capitol, the governor’s palace, the Raleigh Tavern, and the Bruton Parish Church. Yorktown: Preserves the site of the surrender of General Charles Cornwallis to General George Washington in 1781. Nine buildings, including the circa-1730 Nelson House, still survive from this period. College of William and Mary: William and Mary was founded in 1693 by a royal charter issued by King William III and Queen Mary II.

Williamsburg Awards Ceremony Busch Gardens Included in the festival package is a day pass to Busch Gardens Europe theme park. The park is themed around the history and culture of old-world Europe.
