Goals Identify and Update key stakeholders who are interested in connecting to the 49 Chapter House on the Navajo Nation Identify potential funding and Support Services these stakeholders can make available to the 49 Chapters to complete and successfully maintain their broadband connection to the NTUA network Facilitate and Bring Together stakeholders and the 49 Chapters to begin collaboration efforts for connect 9/21/2018

Ntua Broadband project August 2009, NTUA submitted their application under the ARRA Broadband initiative to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Telecommunications & Information Administration (NTIA) March 2010, NTUA was awarded to build an extensive, pioneering broadband infrastructure on the Navajo Nation totaling $46M of which the award funded $32M and $14M NTUA contributed (70% Grant / 30% NTUA Contribution) 9/21/2018

The Broadband project: two implementations 1st Phase Installation of 550 miles of 96 aerial fiber optic cable and 20 miles of lateral attached to NTUA’s existing transmission and distribution poles Executed in 5 phases 2nd Phase Installation of 32 new microwave tower sites Delivery of 4G wireless solution at 43 tower sites In March 2013 both implementations were fully completed 9/21/2018
