Being the Leader of Change IASP 2017 Being the Leader of Change Learner Outcomes Develop a plan to increase the effective use of your Learning Management System by administrators, teachers and students. Put yourself out there and leverage your LMS Model what can be done with an LMS Engagement through professional development Mike At the end of this session our goal is for you all to get a better sense of what a plan might look like to increase the effective use of Canvas by Administrators, Teachers and Students. We will specifically highlight 3 key components 1.Leading by Example 2. Modeling 3. Engagement through Professional Development Twitter: @raewoolpy & @RiskTaker4Kids                                                                              #iaspFC17

Leveraging Your LMS IASP 2017 Create a course for Administrative Team Started as a place to hold information, but developed into much more as the semester went on. Twitter: @raewoolpy & @RiskTaker4Kids                                                                              #iaspFC17

Try Something for 30 Days-Matt Cutts Leveraging Your LMS  IASP 2017 30 Day Project Try Something for 30 Days-Matt Cutts  Mike: Late into the summer (July 22 to July 29) had the administrators watch the video 30 Day Project by Matt Cutts.  Asked them to identify what they would consider doing for the next 30 days to kick off the 2016-2017 school year. Quite honestly it was evident that by October there had not been much movement within the buidlings. Twitter: @raewoolpy & @RiskTaker4Kids                                                                              #iaspFC17

30 Day Challenge IASP 2017 30 Day Challenge From August through October the use of Canvas at the Intermediate and Elementary Level was almost non-existent.  A handful of teachers at the high school were using it, but those were the same ones who had used an LMS on their own. Started November 6th... Rae: Describe initial thoughts when we started the 30 Day Challenge in November. Twitter: @raewoolpy & @RiskTaker4Kids                                                                              #iaspFC17

https://goo.gl/sFtYhxgoo.gl/sFtYhx Motivational Ted Talk IASP 2017 IASP Padlet Mike: Here is an example of 1 of the challenges that we did with our Learning Management System.   So if you would please either click on the IASP, use the QR Code or type in goo.gl/sFtYhx into your browser.  Please Find a Motivational Ted Talk that you have seen or used with your faculty. On the Padlet click the Pink Plus sign in the corner and add the video to your note on the Padlet.  Feel free to add a note as to why you chose it or a little about the video.  goo.gl/sFtYhx Twitter: @raewoolpy & @RiskTaker4Kids                                                                              #iaspFC17

Leveraging Your LMS IASP 2017 1 of the first activities in Canvas as Part of the 30 Day Challenge was to come up with a possible course that Administrators could create.  Purpose of the course, who would be the students, how could they use the course to help support the why?  Twitter: @raewoolpy & @RiskTaker4Kids                                                                              #iaspFC17
