Update on Releases PCI: Overseas Travel HTS Q1 2017 Tourism & Travel published on 14/6/2017 Overseas Travel March- May 2017- to be published on 28th June HTS Q1 2017 – to be published on 22 June Revisions to HTS data back to Q1 2012- published in August 2016- new methodology. Domestic day trips- data collection starting January 2018 (extra questions on HTS form)

Update on CAPI Development of Tourism EDC prototype – almost complete Negotiations with staff about changing rosters, work practices etc ongoing & must be completed before recruitment of new staff Development of new schedules and rosters Developing an app for issuing sample to interviewers etc. Sampling of flights – programmed (subject achievable number of flights, passenger sampling fraction etc.)

Update on CAPI (contd.) Looking at conducting parallel runs for 5 quarters before full migration to EDC Problems = huge rise in passenger numbers into Ireland – all resource allocation was based on 2012 passenger numbers – Dublin airport – passenger throughput increased by 47% between 2012 and 2016. Most optimistic projection = commence parallel runs in Q12018, but that assumes no problems with IR negotiations, easy to recruit required staff etc. Most realistic??
