How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said Can’t fault the nursery. Ardnahoe Nursery is fantastic. There is nothing they could do to make me happier with my choice of nursery for my daughter 3 years ago and my son now. We have loved everything about our experience at Ardnahoe and are sad to say goodbye when my son goes to school. Fantastic Nursery. Fabulous, caring staff.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said It’s already perfect. I am okay with what the nursery is doing. I can’t see any way the nursery could be better. I feel safe leaving my child there and I can see a big change in her since starting and all the staff have been great with both of us and her sister. I can’t think of anything that I would change. Ardnahoe has a great staff who are supportive and helpful. Fantastic nursery.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said Zumba classes for children and adults. I am happy with everything at the nursery. My daughter hasn’t been here very long so the staff haven’t got to know her really well but from the short time she’s been here I am very pleased with how she has settled and how lovely and approachable the staff are. Excellent teachers and staff. Very accommodating.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said I think everything in the nursery is good. We are satisfied with everything. Nursery is excellent. My boy loves nursery, the staff are kind, caring and he has developed leaps and bounds – EXCELLENT NURSERY. I could not fault anything in this kindergarten. It is very good. May daughter is very happy and me too.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said With best wishes for Ardnahoe Nursery. All progress is good. Keep it the best for the children. All staff of the nursery are the best, co-operative and helpful. Good luck to everyone. Our Response We will keep doing our best to reflect all these positive comments.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said More resources for learning. Our Response Glasgow City Council allocated Ardnahoe Nursery School some additional funding and we have used this to purchase more resources for the playrooms. These should be arriving shortly.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said Maybe consider extended opening hours, for example 6pm as a working mother difficult arranging childcare from 3pm onwards. If nursery was opened to 6pm would have considered requesting full time place. Had to go private for the days I work as I could not adapt working hours to suit nursery. Open longer days! Our Response The Scottish Government are planning to extend the funded place from 16 hours to 30 hours in the future. Watch this space.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said A little more communication around things like the nursery policy/procedure on sun cream in the summer. In my child’s previous nursery, they applied sun cream for the children so didn’t think to do on the first nice day this summer. Was told that my child may not be allowed out as a result. A mention of this in the newsletter before the summer would be helpful so parents, where this is the child’s first year at Ardnahoe, are aware to do this. Our Response We will update page 8 of the school handbook to also include NHS information about when to use sun screen on your child. We will update the Parents’ Policy folder at the front door to include NHS information on sun screen. We will include Sun Safety information in the first newsletter after the spring break. We will continue to provide high factor sun screen in the cloakroom. We will continue to monitor the weather and the use of outdoors to keep children safe. Please check NHS Sun Safety web site to get more information about sun screen and sun safety.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said? Cooler cloakroom and indoor playroom. Safer area for indoor and outdoor shoe storage. Our Response We will make sure the fan is turned on earlier in the cloakroom. We will keep encouraging children and parents to use the shoe bags and boxes.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said If access could be improved then it would make life a little easier. Our Response We keep furniture to the minimum in the hallway as it is a fire exit. We are changing how the session runs in August and hopefully this will cut down the congestion in the cloakroom. Any suggestions you have to improve this are very welcome.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said I would like to be more informed on what my child takes part in daily as from what she says she doesn’t do anything or go outside. Maybe have planning available to view. Bit more information on how my child is doing. Our Response Please feel free to talk to your child’s keyworker when bringing or collecting your child. We will keep the learning wall at the front door up to date. We will continue to work on your child’s profile book and share this with you throughout the year. Keyworker plans are displayed in each area. We will continue to include planned learning in our newsletter. We also post a small snapshot of what we have been up to on Twitter @ArdnahoeNursery

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said Give children more one to one time with their nursery teacher in case they need help with something or even if they just want to chat with their teacher as I know there are lots of children but even 20 minutes each time with a child Our Response We work with children individually and in small and large groups throughout the session. Children will need different amounts of adult support depending on what they are learning. Children work with their own keyworker and also the other keyworkers depending on where they choose to play. We will be changing the structure of the session so that there are fewer interruptions. Please speak to your child’s keyworker if you feel that there are areas that your child needs help with.

How can we make the nursery better for you? What you said Giving out the newsletter when it comes out as sometimes I receive it or take one too late Our Response We will try to make sure newsletters are handed out to everyone. We put children’s names on these so that we know who has still to get one. Spare newsletters are in the hallway A copy of the latest newsletter is on the web site www.ardnahoe-nursery.glasgow.sch.uk Just ask at the office for a copy of the latest newsletter.

We are always open to suggestions. If you have a particular idea to help improve our service please let us know. Parents’ Committee meet once per term and you can come along and share your thoughts.

Thank you for your comments If you have any other comments, ideas or suggestions you can -Email the Head Teacher on headteacher@ardnahoe-nursery.glasgow.sch.uk -Fill in a comments slip just outside the office -Come along to our Parents’ Committee meetings -Telephone the nursery on 0141 647 8934 -Speak to your child’s keyworker or the Head Teacher -Post a comment on our web site
