STUDY OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION – PART 13 Part 13 – The Challenges of the Church: The Need for Encouragement and Exhortation

Study of the book of Revelation The Symbols Explained: “…This calls for a mind with wisdom…” – v. 9a John (in the text) will now get a clearer explanation of the symbols that he had just experienced: Woman (prostitute), the Scarlet Beast, horns, etc.. As we learn the meaning of the symbols, this book becomes less frightening and much more informational.

Study of the book of Revelation Verses 9b-14 The “seven heads” are seven hills which represent seven countries, led by seven kings or leaders. These are evil people who desire to serve and please no one but Satan. Five of these kingdoms will not be successful, yet there is another evil leader to rise into power who will be just like the others, and he will not be successful either. (But they will die trying!)

Study of the book of Revelation “The ten horns” are stronger harder to defeat and more committed to evil. They will not lead or control for a long period of time “symbolically one hour”, but they are completely obedient to the “Beast” leader(v.13) and his evil leadership and obedience to Satan.

Study of the book of Revelation v. 13 Some call the allegiance of the of the “ten horns” to the “beast” as the ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT, that many are fearful of historically going all the way back to the League of Nations and the United Nations, as well as the current European Union. Note: The environment for the Birth of Jesus was a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT – Rome and a ONE WORLD LANGUAGE – Greek.

Study of the book of Revelation v. 14 Sinful human leaders led and deceived by their Satanic leader (the Beast) to represent him and wage war against Jesus the Christ (the Lamb). These sinful leaders will be defeated and destroyed by the Lamb and his army. (This is the same army of the Lord that will be mentioned again in Rev. 19:14).

Study of the book of Revealtion v. 15, 16 John sees how evils destroys and overcomes itself! “the waters” = the many people of the world that the woman prostitute = Babylon = sinful-people of society) of 17:3 will deceive and kill. “ the Beast and the “ten horns” will turn on the “Women”, humilate, devastate, and destroy her. ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY!

Study of the book of Revelation vv. 17, 18 God with His sovereign power will allow some elements of evil to destroy itself, before He has Christ destroy all of it!
