The local picture The health of people in Sunderland is varied compared with the England average. Deprivation is higher than average and about 24.3% (11,900) children live in poverty. Supporting Health Professionals – Pharmacies Working together, we can help to: Increase population knowledge of cancer Provide advice on promoting cancer awareness messages increase confidence & skills in raising awareness of cancer signs and symptoms with customers Provide brief intervention training Signpost / refer customers to a GP Raise awareness of cancer screening programmes Link pharmacies into CRUK’s Talk Cancer training We would provide ongoing support and resources to enable campaign activity
