SCT/Pixel Draft Rack Layout 02-10-18 rcj Draft Sub Rack Configuration Gilbert we would appreciate your help in selecting the crates, fan tray and power supply. You will find attached a two page description of our crates with relevant information. Concerns: The power supply is not one of the selected options. It has been modeled after the prototype crates we have from Wiener. The location of the power supply is above the crate. This has been done to maximize the area available for optical cables and connectors. We fell strongly that the back of the crate should be open to minimize the potential of optical fiber damage. The replacement of defective back of the crate cards is also of much concern. The dimensions of the sub rack is not clear from the documentation that we have been able to find. It would be helpful to have you fill in the dimensions (see red text).on page 2. Please state the Wiener parts number that you would recommend (see page two red text). The optical cable routing needs clarification. Please advise us as to the best contact to resolve this issues. We want to negotiate and come to a lasting agreements. COMMENTS from G.Dumont: To mount the Power Supply in front of the rack you need a Power Box not included in the CERN contract. The transparency for the air of the power supply is not very good but it would be sufficient because the low power in the BIN 9U (less than 1kW) 9U Power Supply variant 2, Pout 1900W, +5V/200A, +3.3V/200A , +/-12V/10A, 5 Power Modules, CANbus, Part No: OP06-1125 Power Box for P.S. variant 2 to be added, Part No: to be confirmed 9U BIN ( Subrack) with VME64x backplane variant 1 with 4 slots 6U Part No:OB06-011J 9U Fan Tray for 400mm modules and 220mm transition modules, 9 blowers with CANbus remote control Part No: OF00-070B You will find in page two some requested dimensions
