“Fight or Flight” Our ancestors needed stress reactions to boost adrenaline levels in case of sudden threats.

Adrenaline: 1. Heart rate and breathing up. 2. Liver pumps more sugar Adrenaline: 1. Heart rate and breathing up. 2. Liver pumps more sugar. 3. Temporarily shuts down non-essential systems. All of this quickly increases your muscle performance.

Adrenaline = short term boost. Cortisol = medium term boost.
