Straight through PhD Process Graduate Education Straight through PhD Process

Voting Language “Dr. Blow motioned to hold faculty vote to pass straight through curriculum committee recommendations, which include allowing bachelors students to apply directly to current PhD for Child Development and LHDFD. Website and additional materials will be updated to reflect this. Additionally, students entering with a Masters will enter PhD directly and students entering with Bachelors will be considered PhD students but will be coded as Masters. In fall, the Graduate Education Committee will develop annual systematic review process to determine funding and this will be in place before the next cohort of students start in fall 2018. Dr. Vallotton moved and Dr. Villarruel seconded. Faculty voted by count of hand and approved 17y-0n.” – April 2017 Faculty Meeting Minutes
