Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project This is the last graded assignment of the semester We will work on this through Thursday This could bring you up a letter grade or drop you a letter grade It will be fun!

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project You are going to create a design or drawing that will be translated, reflected, and rotated around the coordinate plane.

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project– Day 1 Day 1 (10 points): Create your drawing template. The following rules apply when creating your drawing: It must fit within a 15 unit by 15 unit piece of graph paper It must NOT be symmetrical It must have sufficient detail. If you aren’t sure then ask. The drawing must neat and “pixelated” Do a google image search with “8 bit” or “pixel” to get inspiration Only use pencil

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project– Day 1 Show me your template to get permission to cut it out

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project– Day 2 Day 2 (10 points): Translations. Draw a large coordinate plane on graph paper. Place your template somewhere in the second quadrant and neatly trace around it. Translate your original 3 times. Your translations should take you to the first, third, and fourth quadrants, Your translations do not have to be to similar places, as long as they are within the 3 other quadrants. Each translation and the original should be colored the same.

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project– Day 2 “Slide” the image to each quadrant Ex. 1 Ex. 2

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project– Day 3 Day 3 (10 points): Reflections. Draw a large coordinate plane on graph paper. Place your template somewhere in the second quadrant and neatly trace around it. Reflect your drawing over the y axis, then the x axis, then the y axis again. Each reflection and the original should be colored the same Looks awesome when you start close to (0, 0)

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project– Day 3 “Flip” the image to each quadrant Ex. 2

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project– Day 4 Day 4 (10 points): Rotations. Draw a large coordinate plane on graph paper. Place your template somewhere in the second quadrant and neatly trace around it. Rotate your drawing 90° clockwise, 180°, and 90° counterclockwise. Each rotation and the original should be colored the same Looks awesome when you start close to (0, 0)

Unit 6, Task 2: Transformation Graphing Project– Day 4 “turn” the image to each quadrant Ex. 2
