A ruler is required for your lines (see if you can find where they are stored in the room!) Number Notebook Pages: Number your new notebook for the first 30 pages. A model for this is on the board. Key Quotes: Write the quotes below in your journal at the top of page 1. “Organization is the key to success” “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail” “Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal.” 1

EXPECTATION QUIZ What were the first two expectations that you learned when you walked into class on the first day? When Mr. Bergmann needs the classes undivided attention, what will he do? What does Mr. Bergmann’s tie represent? What words do the 3 claps represent? What two words can sum up the behavior expectations in science?

Eye Walk …tour the room! Think, Pair, Share: QUIET TIME: tour the room without leaving your seat. Make observations about the details of the room and try to determine how the science class operates (Resources? Safety? Routines? Etc.) POD TALK: with the people at your table discuss any possible features/observations that you noticed and talk about why these observations might be important to your success in science class. SHARE OUT: as a class share any ideas that your table discussed.
