Presentation transcript:

Dan was caught being proactive! Mrs. Chasidy Thompson Oct. 17th – Oct. 21st Classroom News *We had a great time on our trip Wednesday. The weather was perfect and they had so much fun! *I will be sending home a note later this week to let you know when conferences are if you signed up for one. *Keep saving those box tops! We are going to have a schoolwide Box Top Bonanza! (Please see the paper in student folders.) My goal is to get enough money to purchase our classroom a refrigerator for when we move to the new school. Please send all that you have saved and continue to save for our spring collection. Thank you!  ***Please see the new list of sight words on the back of the newsletter. These are the words your child will be tested on at the end of the nine weeks.*** *If you are interested in helping with our school’s PTA please send a note or email me. ***I will be sending home new homework this nine weeks. I know that this is going to cause some confusion and I apologize in advance!! Several students are loosing the small books or they are getting torn easily because they are so old. I have decided to NOT send home the RED folders anymore. Your child will only have to take home their reading book once per week. I will send home a log in the front of their books for you to sign. I am also going to add a read with speed page to help your child with fluency. This is something you will need to do with your child 3 times per week. You will find this attached to the newsletter each week. If you see that your child is struggling with reading and would prefer me to send home more books, please let me know and I will be more than happy to send home extras!! If you have any questions feel free to email or send me a note. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience or confusion. *** Dan was caught being proactive! A Peek at our Week… Reading: -I can read & spell words with sh & th. -I can read fluently & for meaning. -I can retell the story and describe main details. Grammar: I can identify and write questions. Writing: -I can write a complete sentence. -I can write a personal narrative and informative piece. Math: -I can solve word problems by adding.
