What good is a story without it? Conflict What good is a story without it?

What is conflict? Conflict is a struggle between two opposing forces. It’s a fight, contest, challenge, struggle, or something making life difficult. Without a conflict stories would all be boring. Nothing would happen.

There are 2 categories of conflict. Internal Conflict: The struggle takes place in the heart or mind. Example: A boy thinks about turning someone in for cheating on a test. There is nobody making him do it, it’s an argument he’s having to make on his own. External Conflict: struggle between a character and some outside force such as another character or nature Example: A soldier fights in a war. Surviving a terrible storm.
