THEORY Differential-Association Theory Criminal behavior is learned in interaction with others Guzman was influenced by looking at his dad and seeing in his head that he was successful.

THEORY CONT. Guzman picked up from his father, Emilio Guzmán Bustillos, who was a drug addict. His father spent most of the profits on liquor and women and often returned home with no money. Tired of his mismanagement, Guzmán, at the age of 15, cultivated his own marijuana plantation with four distant who lived nearby. With his first marijuana productions, Guzmán supported his family financially. His uncle also was using drugs. This proves that Guzman picked up after his father to start selling and abusing drugs.
