Presentation transcript:

Virgin Galactic Tour of the Universe Advertising Campaign Project For this project, you have been employed by the company Virgin Galactic to develop an advertising campaign to convince customers to spend their money on a “Tour of the Universe” offered by Virgin Galactic in the future. You will be graded two ways: PHASE ONE: Research . Be sure to include all the required components for each destination as this is a Test grade on this assignment. PHASE TWO: Presentation. A second Test grade is based on the Visual Aide design and Script to make an overall awesome presentation of the information gathered.

Virgin Galactic Project Research/Content Rubric Each group must select 10 Destinations across the Universe Each of the 9 Stages of the Star’s Life Cycle (Nebula, Protostar, Main Sequence, Red Giant, White Dwarf, Black Dwarf, Super Giant, Supernova, Neutron Star, and Black Hole) Choose One final destination of the remaining components of the universe (Asteroid, Galaxy, Solar/Planet System, Planet, Meteor, Comets, International Space Station, etc.) Each Destination has 10 Required components 10 points per Destination max (1 point per requirement) 100 points Total as a Test Grade Required components Age, Temperature, Color, Luminosity/Absolute Magnitude, Size/Mass, Who Discovered, Lightyears/Distance from Earth, Type of EM Radiation Emitted, Description, and SELL IT! Why is it awesome to go there?

Project Code Name: Lead Agents: PHASE ONE: Research Project Code Name: Lead Agents: Destination Name Stage/ Component Age Temperature Color Luminosity/ Absolute Magnitude Size Who Discovered? Distance (lightyears) from earth? Type of Electromagnetic Radiation Emitted? Description SELL IT! Why is it Awesome to go there? 10 Points each Possible

Phase Two: Presentation Part 1: VISUAL AIDE (brochures, billboard, or website) ---WORTH 50 POINTS OF PRESENTATION GRADE Your group will choose ONE of the options (brochures, billboard, website, or 2 min. commercial) to use as a visual aide to sell your tour of the universe and all its destinations. Regardless of which option you use as your visual aide, it must include: At least 10 pictures All writing or fonts must be neat and easily readable All graphics and pictures are related to the topic and make it easier to understand. Your spokesperson will stay behind to SELL your project during the class grading and voting portion. You’re group must turn in a written script to be used by your spokesperson during the 2 minute presentation/sales pitch. Your script must be neatly written with few grammar and spelling mistakes. It must be long enough to fill the 2 minutes of talking required. Part 3: RESEARCH CREDITS WORTH 25 POINTS You will need to do extensive research to accurately complete the content portion of the grade. You must turn in a neatly written or typed sheet listing AT LEAST 10 DIFFERENT WEBSITES where you obtained information for your project.

PHASE TWO: Websites Used for Research (25 points) Websites Used (10 Required) Additional Websites Used
