Personification

Can the sun really lie down? Personification Definition: Giving human traits to NON-human things. Example: Page 18- ”The sun lay down behind the mountains.” Can the sun really lie down?

More examples Page 87: “She laughed and the desert sang.” Page 91: “The stars will whisper.” The stars danced playfully in the moonlit sky. The run down house appeared depressed. The first rays of morning tiptoed through the meadow. She did not realize that opportunity was knocking at her door.

How to Add personification to your writing: Pick a thing or place: FIRE Give it something humans can do or a human quality: RUN The fire ran wild.
