Problem: Traffic Accidents Laws and policies governments / organizations adopt to address problems Problem: Traffic Accidents Policy: No texting while driving/ no drinking and driving Problem: Overweight ppl get more diseases Policy: PE in schools, no junk food in schools, PSAs

CAP For CAP, select problem w/policy implications and begin working to correct Problem may have one of four implications: Eliminate a policy Modify and existing policy Create a new policy Enforce a current policy
CAP Case Studies Each person in your group will be assigned a case study. Read your case study (8 minutes) Explain your case study to your partners (3 minutes each) For each case study, write: The problem The policy The policy implication (what are supporters trying to do to the policy?) Who would support the new policy and who would oppose it?
CAP Proposal Get together with your groups (2 – 4 ppl) Address the following prompts: What is the problem? What is the goal you would like to see accomplished? What are the policy implications? What do you need to know first (research) in order to get started? What groups might support you? Which groups might oppose you? What is your first step?
