Scheduling Classes Algebra I Requirements: In order to go straight in Algebra I, the student must have scored a Proficiency Level 4 or 5 on 8th grade math state test. -Proficiency Level 4: Represents solid academic performance and mastery of the knowledge and skills required for success in the grade or content area. -Proficiency Level 5: Represents performance beyond what is required to be successful in the grade or content area If students do not score within this range, they will be required to take Foundations of Algebra first semester, then Algebra I second semester.
