Accountability Progress Report State Accountability System: API-Academic Performance Index-measures academic growth over time Federal Accountability System: AYP-Adequate Yearly Progress-all students will achieve performance targets each year and be 100% proficient in ELA and math by 2013-14

Adequate Yearly Progress The Basics AYP 1. Must have at least a 95% participation rate in ELA and math SSUSD met this criteria Percent proficient in ELA and math-(targets change each year) Goal-100% of students (including all subgroups) proficient or higher by 2013-14 SSUSD ELA – 54.5% SSUSD Math – 57.9% API-(target changes each year) 2010 target = 680 or 1 point growth SSUSD API – 788 (13 point growth) 4. Graduation rate - 2010 target = 90% SSUSD – graduation rates are currently pending (SSUSD 2009 graduation rate- 92.8%)

District Focus To continue to improve student achievement and close the achievement gap, the district will: accelerate and challenge students in order to maximize performance provide strategic intervention and support to those students who have been identified as not meeting grade level standards identify and provide professional development to ensure the skills necessary to target specific needs of students continue to analyze student data, monitor student progress, and modify instruction to improve student achievement
