WELCOME! Mrs. Welty Room 25 7th and 8th Grade Science

HELLO! I am so glad you’re here! My name is MRS. WELTY This is my first year at TVCS but I have been teaching for 10 years I LOVE my job, and am SO excited about this school year!

All About Me! I have a mom, a dad, 2 sisters, a HUSBAND named Galo, and a daughter named Sophia I have a puppy named Daphney I love cooking, reading, and going to the beach with my family

Homework: Turn HW in to labeled shelves in back of room (or through Google classroom) Late homework will lose 10% per day it is late CHECK WEBSITE AND GOOGLE CLASSROOM EVERYDAY!!!

Textbook: Rarely used Your INB will be your “textbook” this year

Quizzes and Tests: 40% of your grade Notebook quizzes Study guides for tests USE INB TO STUDY!

Expectations: Keep up with Interactive Notebooks (It’s worth 30% of your grade) Follow class rules and procedures to avoid consequences Participation is a MUST (worth 5% of your grade) Be nice to classroom supplies

Tutoring/Extra Help: As needed Working lunch After school if needed

Absence: Check folders “I was out…” 2 days to make up work I will not remind you!

Technology: Website (coming soon…) Google Classroom (TBA…) CHECK OFTEN

Supplies Required: EVERYDAY YOU WILL NEED: Colored pencils (optional) Composition Notebook Pencil Colored pencils (optional) Earbuds/headphones (optional)

Restroom: Try to go in between classes Find appropriate time during class to ask if ABSOLUTELY necessary

Grading: Class Participation = 5% Labs, Projects, and HW = 25% Interactive Notebook = 30% Quizzes and Tests = 40%

Final Exam: INFO TBA

Additional Info: Classroom supplies Interactive Notebooks Agenda Use is a PRIVILEGE!! Interactive Notebooks MUY IMPORTANTE!! Agenda USE IT EVERYDAY!!

Rules: Be Safe Be Responsible Be Respectful Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself Be Responsible Listen and follow directions Be Respectful Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat Listen while others are speaking

How to follow directions: Look Say OK Do

When you come in the classroom… Come in and find your place Get necessary supplies ready You will always need your notebook If you need class supplies get them quickly Read agenda and write down HW Start Warm-up/Science Starter

When you are on technology… Treat our technology with RESPECT or you just won’t use it anymore SCHOOL-APPROPRIATE things are the ONLY things that are acceptable on our technology Just remember… Technology is a PRIVILEGE …that privilege can be taken away at ANY time

When you leave the classroom… Make sure your area is clean Make sure you have HW written down Wait until the teacher dismisses you Push in your chair before you leave

If you do not follow rules/procedures… 1st Time: Warning 2nd Time: Time – out 3rd Time: Email/phone call home

If you follow these expectations….

You get rewards! Free Time (chromebooks, listen to music) Positive email/call home Rewards You Can Eat! (I like candy!)
