What is the World Wide Web? The World Wide Web, or simply Web, is a way of accessing information over the medium of the Internet. It is an information-sharing model that is built on top of the Internet. The Web uses the HTTP protocol, only one of the languages spoken over the Internet, to transmit data. The Web utilizes browsers, such as Internet Explorer, to access Web documents called Web pages that are linked to each other via hyperlinks.(webopedia.com)

What is the internet…really? If you followed the cord- could you go places on the internet? – of course not. 60 Hudson St. New York. This is one of 12 large data centers. They lay large cables underwater. If one cable breaks. They have to go out on a big boat, pick up the cable, fuse it back together and lay it back. These cables are sometimes 3000-8000 miles long.

Where good ideas come from Slow Hunch – Breakthrough ideas take a long time to evolve It took 10 years for the inventor of the www – Tim Berners Lee, to create it.
