There are 63,000 unpaid carers in Gloucestershire But there is support available Carers Gloucestershire is a local charity striving for a better life for carers. They help with the practical and emotional needs of carers through a diverse range of services and support.

A carer is… anyone who provides support on a regular basis to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who is frail or has a physical or mental illness, disability or issues with substance misuse

We support carers in a variety of ways, including: Telephone help line, 8am-8pm for information, advice and guidance Assessment of your caring needs Support Groups & Forums Counselling Service Carer to Carer, a Peer Mentoring Scheme Special Education Needs Information Advice Support Service Carer Emergency Scheme Time out for Carers trips & events Positive Caring Programme
