TYPES OF COMPUTERS

server In most common use, a server is a physical computer (a computer hardware system) dedicated to run one or more services (as a host),to serve the needs of the users of other computers on the network. Depending on the computing service that it offers it could be a database server, file server, mail server, print server, web server, gaming server, or some other kind of server.

nOTEBOOK A notebook computer is comes in medium or large size. It weighs in at less than 6 pounds . It’s mostly used to browse The internet . All it’s components are joined eg. Mouse , Keyboard and Display Screen . It also has an in-built CD drive

NETBOOK A netbook computer is much smaller then the notebook computer . It’s components are also in- built but it does not have a CD drive . It weighs in at less then 2 pounds . It’s main use is to check mail.

TOWER A computer tower, also known as a computer case, is the enclosure that holds many components of a personal or office desktop computer. A computer tower can come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and can also be made from a wide range of materials including steel, plastic, aluminum and more. The size of a computer tower range from small mini-towers to medium sized mid-towers and all the way up to full- size towers, depending on what the computer is being used for and how powerful it is.

Handheld devices A Handheld PC, or H/PC for short, is a computer built around a form factor which is smaller than any standard laptop computer. It is sometimes referred to as a Palmtop. The first handheld device compatible with desktop IBM personal computers of the time was the Atari Portfolio of 1989. Another early model was the Poqet PC of 1989 and the Hewlett Packard HP 95LX of 1991. Other DOS compatible hand-held computers also existed.

DESKTOP COMPUTERS A desktop computer is a personal computer (PC) in a form intended for regular use at a single location, as opposed to a mobile laptop or portable computer. Early desktop computers are designed to lay flat on the desk, while modern towers stand upright. Most modern desktop computers have separate screens and keyboards.

Tablet pc A tablet computer, or simply tablet, is a mobile computer, larger than a mobile phone or personal digital assistant, integrated into a flat touch screen and primarily operated by touching the screen and instead of using a physical keyboard it often uses an onscreen virtual keyboard
