Exploring the healthcare system and culure of china Explore the healthcare system of China. The healthcare system reform in China has gone through several phases since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. The healthcare system of China has been prized by the World Health Organization for its universal health insurance coverage for 1.3 billion Chinese people. The course provides students critical thinking skills focusing on understanding how China could provide a universal coverage for an enormous population, but the U.S. cannot. In addition, students will be exposed to the Chinese culture that has significant influence on China’s healthcare philosophy and its delivery system.
Course components HLAD 5003 This course utilizes a combination of instructional modes including interactive lectures and discussions, field trips and visits to healthcare facilities and historical/cultural sites, text and topic reading, and exchange with Chinese scholars and practitioners.
